My area of expertise are within the streetwear and tech side of the fashion industry. I specifically look into techwear, tactical and unisex clothing. As a designer for me being genuine and authentic is important. As well as having an opinion on a range of matters, to allow you to express your inner voice and message to others and your audience.
Due to my past academic background i want to express my intellect and creative side together, an equal mixture between the mind and the heart. I want my work to be political to have a message that causes people to rethink their stance and question the system and injustices occurring around them. I create for open minded individuals with the same passion for fashion, music, art, philosophy and social views. Who are fighters against prejudice, tyranny and unnecessary bureaucracy. Vlack concept.
My source of inspiration comes from my own roots, my social group and the underground community. They have definitely inspired me to be so passionate, about the Iranian underground scene and techno culture. As I was already a part of this subculture, and have been for many years it had given me insight into how to approach this sensitive concept. The inspiration for my final collection, was the post-revolution state military the underground rave scene of Iran and the governing system.
I explored the clashing contrast between the two sides. As ravers are seen as devil worshippers (sheytan parast) in the eyes of the islamic republics law. My aim was to create a type of uniform for both the overground and the underground which is adaptable to the circumstances. For likeminded individuals who are not devil worshippers but lovers of parties and freedom. The experiences I've had in certain settings and states of minds have also inspired elements in my collection and design philosophy.
