Hi I'm Nadim, BA Interior Design graduate from Regent's University.
My designs are based on a carefully researched narrative as I intend to transport the user on a journey through the spaces and experiences I create. I am passionate about Interior Design especially when it comes to details, materiality and creating concepts, as well as other design disciplines such as Fashion Design.
The aim of my final project is to create a space that will bring together the community and provide them with a place to reflect on events of the past as well as the present, to help educate future generations about the history of our city and allow them to witness the unbreakable spirit of the Lebanese people who always manage to get back on their feet after every tragic event. In my project, the Portal to Beirut Museum, two exhibitions spaces will talk about different time periods in Beirut’s history.
The first space will talk about the Lebanese civil war in the form of an immersive experience, while the second space will talk about the Beirut Port explosion. To further immerse people in our history, a large hall with a spiral ramp will be used to project visuals on its surface to allow visitors to feel as though they are on a journey to the past. Other functions occupying the space include a temporary market to promote local Lebanese products, and a memorial garden to serve as a place of reflection.
