About Me

◆◆◆

Fashion is one of the world’s most creative and largest industries. As a creative person, I have made working within this industry my life goal. My passion for fashion sparked from a young age! My love for design subjects such as Textiles in school made the decision to study fashion design in a fashion capital very easy and I have loved every minute.

I have grown up around very fashionable women, and their style and love for seasonal clothing sparked my own interest in and love for design. I also have a love for styling and have recently become a micro-influencer through Social Media platforms such as Instagram and Pinterest. For the past year, I have been posting to a blog about new season fashion and trends. Combining both design and styling, I have every intention of building a successful design career and earning a respected position within the industry. Designing new season fashion alongside styling collections is my ultimate goal.

Inspiration

The inspiration behind my collection

When I started final year, I knew that I wanted my collection to reflect who I am and my own personal design philosophy. I am drawn to creative design that reflects, modern-luxury, femininity and elegance. I am quite the perfectionist and like my work to be clean. This is why I chose an all white colour palette. To reflect femininity, I chose to start research floral shapes and forms, and how I could translate these shapes into design. I took a lot of inspiration from floral photographer Karl Blossfeldt.

Carrying out my research, I recognised my design work needed more edge. I decided to start looking at the iconic garment that is the biker jacket. Including elements such as Zips and studs. I looked into how fashion designer Simone Rocha had taken inspiration from this iconic garment and reflected it within her own work, and took inspiration from her methods and included these detailings into my own collection development. My aim was to create a contrast between good and bad girls within my collection.
